HTS provides sales, service, literature, and design assistance to owners, developers, engineers, and installing contractors.VRV = Variable Refrigerant Volume (also called VRF or Variable Refrigerant Flow). This refers to DX air conditioning systems that utilize VFD (variable speed) compressor technology to modulate the flow of refrigerant between condensing unit (outdoor unit) to the fan coil/air handling unit (indoor unit).Daikin is the global leader in VRV equipment technology. Daikin is the largest manufacturer of this equipment in the world (and 2nd largest manufacturer of all air conditioning equipment).
Daikin developed VRV system technology in 1982 and currently enjoys a 50% global market share in VRV systems. Basically, Daikin's annual equipment sales are nearly double the next closest competitor (14 global manufacturers).  In 2006, Daikin purchased McQuay International and constructed a $50 million dollar global technology research and development lab at the McQuay International corporate headquarters in Minneapolis.VRV system technology eliminates most of the traditional limitations of DX split system such as piping length, turn-down, and ambient temperature limitationsDaikin VRV systems have demonstrated system efficiencies that are nearly unmatched by other air conditioning strategies30% better efficiency than air cooled chiller - VAV air handling units30-50% better efficiency than traditional split systems50-70% better efficiency than PTAC and other types of systemsVRV uses heat pump heating and eliminates the need for two systems (heating and cooling uses the same piping and heat exchangers)VRV is significantly less expensive than systems providing the same efficiency.
VRV allows building owners a solution that simplifies their HVAC system & reduces maintenance obligations WITHOUT sacrificing energy efficiency.Daikin is simple to design, simple to install, and is one of the most robust and reliable air conditioning systems on the planet!Contact your local HTS sales person.  Our sales engineers can help with just about any system design. Our online webinar resource has a vast presentation archive covering many of the design or ownership questions that you may have. To see the presentation archive, please click here.If you are looking for literature, you may want to start with this system guide summary. If you need more detailed information, just email HTS and we will provide you with a full engineering catalog. Designing a VRV system is super easy. Just pick the fan coil units that meet your design. Your Daikin representative will model your system in the manufacturer's selection software and match condensing units, size refrigerant lines and provide electrical information.
Similar to chilled water design, we serve multiple indoor units from a common condensing unit. This allows diversity and redundancy of capacity. We adjust the flow of refrigerant to modulate capacity in response to the changing building heating/cooling demand.Refrigerant is the most efficient mechanism of heat transfer we have. We can move more BTU's per pound of refrigerant than any other means. (More than blowing cold air or pumping cold water). With VRV, we take the most efficient means of heat transfer and take the refrigerant directly to the load. window ac unit freonVRV combines variable speed drive technology on compressors and fans. depreciation of an air conditioning unitThis allows efficient turn-down and incredible efficiency at part load. ac unit buzzing fan not running
Digitally commutated motors and heat pump heating also contribute to the overall system efficiency.Daikin controls are all factory packaged. Other systems require field installation and programming of devices, sensors, and unit controllers. With Daikin, the only control installation is connecting the control wiring between components. The system is auto-addressing and is essentially programmed "out of the box".Daikin units are low-profile allowing placement just about anywhere. They offer unmatched sound performance and can be applied in the most sound sensitive environment. (These units are installed less than 20 yards from the neighbor's house. (ダイキン工業株式会社 Daikin Kōgyō Kabushiki-gaisha?) is a Japanese multinational air conditioner manufacturing company headquartered in Osaka. It has operations in Japan, China, Australia, India, Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. Daikin is the inventor of variable refrigerant volume systems (or VRV by Daikin air conditioning, other manufacturers remarked this as VRF) and an innovator in the split system air conditioning market. Daikin codeveloped a R-410A refrigerant with Carrier. Daikin entered the North American air conditioning market in 2004. Daikin Industries Ltd was founded in 1924 as Osaka Kinzoku Kogyosho LP by Akira Yamada. In 1953, Daiflon or polychlorotrifluoroethylene was developed. In 1963 the company was renamed Daikin Kogyo Co Ltd and developed Neoflon.
In 1982 it was renamed to the current Daikin Industries Ltd. In November 2006 Daikin purchased OYL Industries. This made Daikin the second largest HVAC manufacturer in the world after Carrier Corporation. In 2008 Daikin purchased a 75% share of All World Machinery Supply based in Roscoe, Illinois.[5] using technology from their Air Conditioning division. Facing the global demands on CO2 reductions and the serious energy issues facing the world, this product aims to cut energy consumption[] in the manufacturing sector. As of April 2014, Daikin Hydraulics marketed a line of piston pumps, vane pumps, manual pumps, solenoid valves, and flow and control valves claiming their pump technology to be 50–70 percent more energy efficient than conventional technology. In August 2012 Daikin agreed to acquire Goodman Global from the San Francisco-based private equity firm Hellman & Friedman for $3.7 billion,[7] after first planning to buy Goodman the previous year. In January 2011, Daikin had announced plans to buy Goodman Global at approximately US $4 billion valuation,[8] however, the plans were put off following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami[9] The acquisition was expected to expand Daikin's presence in the United States and in duct-type and split-system air-conditioners, and was expected to make Daikin the world's largest maker of heating
