portable ac unit 8000 btu

Check out the newer version, the LG Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control. LG Electronics 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote LP0813WNR (New Model) 13.9 x 13.8 x 29.8 inches 57.8 pounds (View shipping rates and policies) #799,056 in Home and Kitchen (See Top 100 in Home and Kitchen) #268 in Home & Kitchen > Heating, Cooling & Air Quality > Air Conditioners & Accessories > Air Conditioners > Portable Bought this thing for my daughter's 175 sq ft dorm room in a sorority house which has no ac and faced the afternoon sun. Owners manual is filled with errors. Among them, the LED does NOT indicate the set temperature as claimed. It shows room temp. I'm surprised by the reviews on here. This model is useless. I have a 10 x 15 room. I vented it outside. It maybe cools the room 5 degrees at best. I just spent 20 minutes writing a wonderful detailed review and at the last minute my phone froze and I lost it all 😡😡😡. So here is my review.Hot

Great delivery and awesome priduct Our apartment has no central a/c and it's been about 90 degrees inside all summer. Getting a good night's sleep was impossible until we bought this unit for the bedroom. I bought two of these at the beginning of the summer. Both were used in small rooms. Both were loud, took up alot of space (giant cabinet, hose, window exhaust) and had minimal... I have very little positive to say about this unit. I bought it via Home Depot about five month ago and it just doesn't work. I own 11 portable units used for my office building in case of an emergency A/C failure. A lesson learned that I will pass on to people who don't know about portable A/C. See and discover other items: air conditioner portable Age 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55-64 65 and older Gender Male Female My central air played out this week in the very humid central Mississippi with temps reaching 95 and up during the peak of the day. I was laying up after supper last night and remembered seeing these stacked up in the Starkville MS wAlmart as I had searched our local Walmart and only found window units.

The portable AC was exactly what I needed to cool my bedroom so that I could at least get some much needed sleep and rest until my main unit is repaired next week. I installed it within five minutes and within 4 hours my bedroom temp went from 81 degrees to 75! Now 75 sounds hot but goodness 81 and up is bad warm to try and sleep in. I haven't had any problems with water yet as some reviews have suggested and I'm operating within my means meaning I'm not trying to cool more than a medium sized bedroom.

Oh this is a hot and humid Texas summer would buy again. Yes () No (3) Report Yes () No (3) I purchased this unit to use with my RV, when attending dog shows, when I can't get any more than 15 amp. I am not able to use my roof top air under 20 amp, (31 foot class C), but this little unit is the answer!! Small enough, that I can put it between the two front seats, with the exhaust out one of the windows mostly closed, towels fitted around. I then make sure my sliding room partition is closed from the kitchen dining area to the hallway. This unit kept this area, #with 8 show dogs in crates) at any temperature I wanted. I was also able to run my 28 inch tv, and a heating pad for week old puppies, all on 15 amp!!!!! I just shut it off to make coffee, run blow dryers, etc. This was in 90 degree weather, and when it cooled down in the evening, I opened the partition to the back of the motorhome, and slept comfortably. The most compact unit I could find for the size, superb!! Without it, I would be staying at home, for the areas with 15 amp.

Yes () No () Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser I have a mid 1800's house with central air but it still gets very hot on the 2nd floor. The day I set this unit up it was 88 degrees upstairs and 5 hours later it was a much more comfortable 75 degrees! So far I am very happy with my purchase, I only wish I had done it sooner! *It's cooling a 400-450 sqaure foot area with no problem. Yes (5) No (0) Report Yes (5) No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser Got this portable A/C unit as we were heading into a very warm and humid period in July. My son was being released from a 2 week hospital stay following serious chest surgery and I wanted to be sure that his south facing bedroom had both cool and filtered air. Unpacking and installing it took 30-40 minutes, I plugged it in, turned it on, and put out nicely cooled clear air immediately. It's got 2 speeds - low & high and we've yet to need anything but Low. It easily maintains a 200+ sq/rm (with a powerful PC, gaming system, and large screen TV) at a comfortable temp.

If he leaves his door open, the upstairs hall and another bedroom drop in temp too. The noise at the low setting makes a pretty soft sound and isn't at all distracting; it's more like white noise so sleeping is fine. It's been on non-stop for about 3 weeks now and it's performed perfectly. For the cost, this has been a remarkable bargain. It's also easier to move around/redirect than I'd expected - 'tho you you are limited by the length of the (v. good quality) flexible hose that runs the exhaust out the window. I expect this will operate well for years - but I did purchase the Walmart 3 yr. coverage just in case since that was also a great price. I'll probably get another one for my downstairs office. You won't be sorry if you buy this Haier 8,000 BTU portable. Yes () No (5) Report Yes () No (5) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser Having only sideways opening windows, this has a vent that fits nicely in the window and can be rolled to what ever room you need it in. Like if you're having company in the living room, just roll it in there and open the window slightly and and put the vent in it and close the window on it.

Then you're in business. It also has a setting for climates that have high humidity just as we do. It is DRY settings and it draws the humidity out of the air to cool the room rather than using the air compressor that uses a lot more electricity. Of course you have to empty the water tray every once in a while using the DRY settings, but it is great. The COOL air conditioning settings puts out nice cool air. If you're needing an AC for a mobile home or small home, this is the best if you only stay in one part of the house at a time. My wife and I stay mostly in our bedroom or computer room being we're disabled and retired, so it's great for us. Yes () No () Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser Had it for a few days, just in time for a spell of hot and humid weather. This thing is a dream machine. 25 mins total to unpack, check everything, install the window kit, turn it on, and get cool. Unpacking takes about ten mins because the packaging is built like Fort Knox. The window kit is a breeze to install, and then (unless the unit has been laying on its side, in which case you need to wait a couple hours to let the lubricants in the compressor settle to the bottom) ... you plug it in and turn it on.

The machine pumps out an ocean of cold air quickly cooling this 500 sq ft room. The remote is perfect and easy to use, set it to the desired temp and fan speed and leave it alone. I've seem similar capacity units that cost $100-200 more but this one works better. It is quiet and it has no need for a drip pan, it evaporates the condensate as it goes. I don't think there is any way to beat this air conditioner for the price. Yes () No () Report Yes () No () Verified purchaser This unit was purchased as a temporary A/C until our regular unit was replaced. It was super easy to install. Cooling for a 12X13 bedroom was great! It was relatively quiet, less noise than some room fans I've used. I liked the self evaporating feature so that we did not have to worry about draining the unit. Yes () No (3) Report Yes () No (3) Verified purchaser I had a Haier 5000 btu window air conditioner that i ran for like 5 yrs years and it performed wonderfully , but in the last year I could see that it was not nearly cooling like when it was new.
