“I just had a brand new downstairs unit installed that qualifies for the Energy Tax Credit of $ 1500. Rocky Top Air is who put it in. It is a Trane XL14C Package unit that replaces the ones like is installed here in Atlee Fields on lots of homes. If you just need a repair they also have a service plan they will put you on for $ 148. That gets you three visits in a year and up to 2 pounds of Freon if you just need a little. 2 pounds is included in the $ 148 Maintenance Plan.  They gave me a year service plan for free on the new unit, but put it on my old unit for free because I am having trouble with that one too. I am going to wait to see if there will be a tax credit again next year.. If you haven’t done any research, the Trane XL14C Top of the line unit like I had installed is a Dual Fuel System. It has both a Heat Pump and Gas Heat.  Uses the Heat Pump down to 35 degrees and then uses gas. Or you can tell it to just use gas which ever is less expensive. It has variable speed fans and has a circulate feature that can just start the fan in the house every so often and move the air around. I changed mine out because the air conditioner started messing up two times last year and the heat has given me trouble every year for the last 5 years. ( RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT ). If you want to see my new unit you are welcome to come see it. It is bigger slightly than the old unit. About a foot taller and just a little wider and 8 inches deeper. It is very quiet.
