goodman condensing ac unit

Labor only cost replace 2 ac condenser units outside the house? Goodman 16 seer units provided. Considering there is no duct modification, how much would it cost for installation only of 2 ac condenser units in a house in Las Vegas? My father-in-law is a licensed contractor in Ohio and helped me pick and purchase the units. I will be ready to replace the units in a couple weeks and currently looking for the best bid. I may also replace one furnace (would just need installation labor as well). Most licensed contractors would charge you their regular price to provide and install the system that you have already purchased, less their wholesale cost for the unit, that you already purchased, so little to no saving off their regular price. Similar to the break you would get at the best Steakhose in Vegas, if you brought your own steak and ask for a discount off their menu price, since you brought your own steak!Others just won't show or return your call. I am guessing your father in law is not an HVAC contractor, or I am guessing he would have defined a different approach and been able to give you pretty good cost estimate.Good comments by BayAreaAC - some contractors would not even deduct the wholesale unit cost - or at least not all of it.Also, bear in mind, in many cases buying the unit yourself can end up voiding the warranty so besure to try to get that validated. Plus contractor will generally not warranty the parts you supply unless specifically spelled out in the contract that his warranty applies to them as if he had bought them. You will almost certainly will get a better deal if you include the two A/C installs with the furnace replacement, rather than doing them separately, because then it is getting to be a full size job.I assume when you say condenser units, you mean all the outdoor unit - condenser, fan, compressor, controls and valves, housing, pad if needed, water connection if has a spray unit, and if changing from Freon to another gas you might possibly get into changing the gas tubing and evaporators too because many of the new gases run higher pressure or are incompatible with certain types of tubing.

I would say you are probably looking, for the outdoor units only without evaporator/tubing changes, around $500-1000 each depending on complexity, amount of tubing refits to adapt to unit connections, whether it came with gas or not, etc. More if difficulties or if Freon and need gas fills, or needs tubing or evaporator replacements too.Furnace replacement cost you can get some ideas in the Home > HVAC link in Browse Projects at lower left.
